We take the opportunity
to select nothing but the best firewood. The wood is 45% Oak, 45 % Pecan,
and the other 10 % is Cedar Elm and Ash, which is excellent hard wood. A
true cord is 2' x 4' x 16' and a rick is half of this amount. Since most
fireplaces won't take 2' pieces, we cut our wood between 12" and
18". Therefore the length of the cord ends up being between 17' and
18' to compensate for not being 2' wide. When we stack this wood at the
point of origin, it is not crisscross which means that you are getting a
true cord and not a "fluff" cord. It has been our experience
that crisscrossing the pieces, when stacking, stabilizes the pile helping
to keep it from falling over. Therefore sometimes when the wood is
delivered, we do crisscross the pieces to stabilize the pile. A cord
delivered and stacked is $250; a half cord is $150. Our efforts to give
you a quality product are to demonstrate the integrity that may help to
encourage the use of our service in the other areas of our expertise.
